The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is a film released in 2008 that was directed by Christopher Nolan, and it stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman. This film is the sequel to Nolan’s Batman trilogy after Batman Begins.


It is two years since the incidents in Batman Begin and Gotham city has been witnessing the activities of Bruce Wayne alias Batman. With Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent having cleaned Gotham of organized crime, the coming of the Joker is threatening everything they’ve accomplished.


Joker begins the terror campaign against the city while testing the mettle of Batman, Gordon, and Dent. However, with time, everything changes in a different direction: Batman and Gordon have to fight against Joker and prevent his actions, while Dent who is pushed by circumstances takes drastic actions that are aimed at protecting the city.


He takes a bus filled with civilians and demands that he reveals his identity or else he will kill everyone on board. The joker escapes and therefore batman exposes himself. The Joker then kidnaps Dent and forces him to make a choice: either killing Gordon or his beloved woman, Rachel Dawes. Dent kills Dawes and becomes a villain.


After the death of Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for the murder of Dent, protecting Dent’s reputation and keeping hope alive in Gotham. Thus, the Joker is defeated while Batman opts for exile.
