Pulp Fiction synopsis
The film is divided into four stories, each of which is told out of chronological order.
The Bonnie Situation: The first tale involves the activities of Vinny Vega (John Travolta) and Julius Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) who, as employed by gangster Marcellus Wallace’s (Ving Rhames), were assigned to settle a debt with boxer Butch.
The Gold Watch: Secondly, two characters known as Jules and Vincent are instructed to get a case out of a pawnshop’s possession.
Vincent Vega and Marcellus Wallace’s Wife: The third tale involves Vincent who had to guard Mia Wallace (played by Uma Thurman) as Marsellus left out town.
The Finale: However, in the fourth story, Butch is forced into a fixed fight that has been arranged against him. Butch escapes from them, however, and they send Vincent and Jules to track him down.

- Titular pulp fiction was a term used to describe cheap, sensational fiction which was very popular during those periods.
- Tarantino had originally planned for the short story to be broken up into three different parts, however, these were subsequently brought together in a single package.
- Dialogue in the movie is deliberately stylized with lengthy deep-thought talks on philosophy, among other topics.
- The depiction of violence in the movie is gory and realistic; critics have denounced the excessiveness of such representations.
- The movie gained widespread acceptance and it ranks among the best films ever made.
